Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by Anthony Q Armstrong

Letting Go

Sometimes I want to jump off a cliff,

Yet other times I want to go slowly and painfully.

I was on a downward spiral,

When the 'darkness' welcomed me home.

You stepped in and changed my life.

Now all I think about is life on the other side.

It would be a shame to let you leave,

But still, I let you go.

If you save me, I'll give you your wish.

And it's you I'll always miss.

Suicide is stupid,

Yet it's so real.

If I let go,

Will your calloused hands still say "no"?

You stepped in and changed my life.

Now all I think about is life on the other side.

It would be a shame to let you leave,

But still, I let you go.

If you save me, I'll give you your wish.

And it's you I'll always miss.

Drop what you’re doing,

And look to and fro.

Have you never seen this,

Have you ever said "JUST GO"?

You stepped in and changed my life.

Now all I think about is life on the other side.

It would be a shame to let you leave,

But still, I let you go.

If you save me, I'll give you your wish.

And it's you I'll always miss.

Save me now, or I'm forever gone.

Save me now, so I don’t become a pawn.

Death has a plan, but I don't want to go,

Save me now, or I'm forever gone.

Life is short, so live it full.

But Death is eternal, you freaking fool!

You saved me over again,

But I'm still pinned.

I'm losing it,

I'm losing it all...

Moving piece, I like the line "darkness welcomed me home"....there is a comfort in that strange as it seems - keep writing and growing, you know how to express your emotions well!

Each of your pieces pulse with such vivid emotions. I can practically see them writhing on the surface. This poem in particular has the fluidity of a song. Have you any experience with lyrics? Do you play piano, guitar, any instruments? I honestly think you should pursue turning this piece into song. Only my opinion; only something to think about! Lovely, just lovely.

Letting go means different things to different people. I feel you are in deep pain and hope that writing helps sooth this pain.

Letting go is one of the easy yet hardest things a person can do. I like how you dont sugar coat things; its raw and real. Good work :3
