Once a dreamer, I now see...

Once a dreamer, I now see...

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Once upon a time

Seems like eons ago

I was quite the dreamer

As my imagination took flight

I could see past the stars

Conquer the wildest of seas

Dance to the music that played in my head

Sing songs to my hearts content

I believed in the images I made

Of the fluffy white clouds in the sky

I believed in the miracle of faith

Found in a tiny mustard seed

Felt the yearning of a young lover's eyes

Knew the innocence of days gone by

I was quite the dreamer

Until one day, the tides had turned

I no longer yearned, for a world of fantasy

A stranger crossed my path

Call it fate or call it destiny

My eyes were opened to a dark reality

My poetry no longer had it's  rhyme

My sleep interrupted by worries

A hard life's journey took it's toll

I saw life through different eyes

I sought out the truth in all things

Revealed my life to the world

Through poetry and prose

No longer do I see life as a dreamer

I now see life through the eyes, of reality.
