A Sailor, a Mermaid, and a Rose Tatoo

A Sailor, a Mermaid, and a Rose Tatoo

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
"

(dedicated to my dad)

"

There once was a sailor named James

He fell overboard and into the sea

That is when he met her

A mermaid as beautiful as she could be

Her name was Rose

James loved to write

poetry and prose

She saved his life

Though she could never

become his wife

James loved her so very much

He got a tatoo

of his mermaid on his arm

Indigo ink as blue

as the sea

Whenever he moved his arm

she showed such charm

as she would dance

For James and Rose had a wonderful romance
