May The Angels Watch Over You (poem #1)

May the angels watch over you my friend throughout this trial

The times we've shared together I shall always treasure

Angels in heaven are shedding tears for you and so am I

Watch for a miracle, have faith and believe in the power of healing

Over and over again I shall pray for you my friend

You mean so very much to me and so much more to the lord

May the Angels Watch Over You (poem #2)

M ay the angels watch over you my friend

A sad day it was when I got the news

Y ou were diagnosed with lung cancer

T he thought of losing you hurts so deep

H eaven knows what a beautiful person you are

E ven as I write this poem tears fall upon the pages

A year ago when I lost my son you were right here by my side

N ow that is what true friendship is all about isn't it

G ood times we had so many growing up together didn't we

E verybody went their own way somehow we stayed friends

L ife can be wonderful and then it can throw you a curve ball

S ending my love and my prayers to you I hope you find comfort

W hat do I say to you, you've been more like a sister to me

A ll I can do is offer you my support if you need me just call me

T hinking about you tonight as I watch the cresent moon

C louds floating by just a few in the night sky

H eartbroken am I for you

O h how I remember the first time we met we were so young

V ery young and we had such wonderful dreams didn't we

E verybody was there and we danced and had so much fun

R ecalling the way we became best friends forever and always

Yvonne, you will always be my best and dearest friend

O kay sis? I love you and I always will love you and your children too

U ntil the stars fall from the sky...

Beautifully written, well rounded tributes... You have shown a true versatility to the Acrostic form... Great job (:

It has a flawless flow that seeps sadness, but also encouragement and inspiration. Love the way you did two different Acrostics. Hang in there! It doesn't have to end sad. My dad had lung cancer and stomach cancer many years apart, but beat them both. He is now fighting prostate cancer, but at a ripe old age. The way you describe growing up together and the bond reminds me of my sisters. Admirable write!

The last two verses of the arcostic are very, very moving...a whole life of experience is concentrated there...the past and the avowal of continuing friendship extending to Y's children. Life is rough at time. But we are all in it and we all get the rough at some point. Having friendship of you the kind you feel and write about here is probably makes all the difference to a great many people. Such simple friendship encourages people, cheers them, validates them, makes them feel good about themselves. And I mean the giver of the friendship as well as the receiver. Good luck to Y, too.

This is a powerful poem so full of love and the pain of a friend. Empathy and friendship give this piece so much emotion and love It touches the reader at the very heart. Simply Loving and supporting in her hour of need. but please don't wait for her to call you, go and show her how much support you can be. Take care and God bless both of you.

It's so sad when a friend is diagnosed with something so terrible. I'm sorry for the pain that your friend is going through; emotionally and physically. My heart is with you as well. Nice write! Your emotion is on the screen for all the readers to share.

This is inspiring and beautiful and wonderfully constructed. There are so many fine phrases and stanzas I just can't include one favourite. So, will just say a big thank you for sharing a sad, sensitive piece of writing.
