Yard Sailing

Yard Sailing

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Going yard sailing today

Floating from house to house

Finding lovely treasures along the way

Nic nacs and what nots, trinkets and gadgets

Slightly worn clothing, coats, hats and gloves

Old furniture, appliances and of course used toys

Everything you can imagine, under the sun

You just might run across an antique

So many things you can fix up

For just a few pennies

A quarter here and there

Yard sailing is fun for everyone

My father was a fan of yard sales for years. He's got a house full of stuff to prove it. He once told me, it takes ten years to buy things and ten years to get rid of it. :)

That was fun to read. I haven't ever read a poem about yard sailing. I loved it!

This was great fun to read and brought back many memories as one who use to go to them quite a bit. I loved it. Great read.

One man's junk is another man's treasure... a different topic to cover but i enjoyed your creative take on it.

Oh! Love the way you relate this topic to sailing. I'll never look at sailing or looking at yard sales in quite the same way. Very nice. Thanks!

At our yard sale in June, my wife sold my $175.00 telescope for five bucks. Ouch! Truth is, we were choking on all that stuff and needed to just get rid of it. I'd never seen a poem on this subject before--thanks for writing it.
