Let Me Be Her

Let Me Be Her

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Let me be her

The one you hold

In the middle of the night

When the lights go out

The mood becomes so right

By a flickering candlelight

Let it be me

The one to share the moon with you

Let me be her

The one you wake up to

In the early morning sunshine

The one who can put a smile on your face

Let me be the one

You come home to

Each and every night

I love you so much

Let me be her

Give me a chance

To show you romance

It won't cost you a dime

Just a bit of your time

Let me be her

The one who dries your tears

Comfort you when you are afraid

Let me be the one

To stand by your side throughout the years

Let me be her

The one you dream about

This was really beautiful. I sorta pictured this as an acoustic song for some reason. It flowed nicely and like how sometimes it rhymed and other times it didn't. Great Job!

I'd want more than a just a bit of his time! ; )
Your poem is very good. Just one suggestion:
to one share the moon with you (I think you have an extra word here.)
