Redundant

Redundant

A Poem by maddie

Writing the same poem every day in hopes that something will change
I should know by now that my attempts will never bear fruit
Except maybe one poisonous berry
The berry that corrupts my mind
I have been interrupted writing this countless times
By thoughts of your essence wandering into my brain
They have began to multiply, surrounding me from all angles
I can't even blink without seeing your face
You're everywhere in my mind, yet I never seem to find you on my front porch
Or miscellaneous articles of your clothing in odd places around my house
Not anymore at least
You've wandered off trail my dear
Come back, come back to where you belong
In my arms with my favorite T-Shirt on
I trust you with ever inch of my soul
With every blemish of my body
You've taught me how to trust the wind
To let the tides work wit me, rather than constantly checking my horoscope
You've taught me how to love
You've taught me to give everything I have
In exchange for all of yours

I think this might be a good poem to preform as spoken word, what do you think? How's the rhythm?s
