A pack of lies

A pack of lies

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

I've been in one of my moods lately

"

We were sent to defend a lie
that doesn't matter now
With the past long dead and buried
deep in the hallowed ground

We're nothing but old war stories
of blood soaked memories
Of fire fights and flash air strikes
and mortar batteries

You wanna hear a war story
The one tale I can tell
The day I killed my first hajji
My soul went straight to hell

The one thing you need to know
You have to understand
Those we voted into power
Our blood is on their hands

The architects of a nightmare
For me will never end
Was nothing but a pack of lies
We were sent to defend

a work reminiscent of WWI soldier and poet Wilfred Owen here BR - (The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est
Pro patria mori). Moving stuff and damning!

Strong, powerful, and sadly true. These politicians have a day in judgement that looks like a water-slide! Well written!

"blood soaked memories" This is a very intense line.

This is quite different from your usual hilarious writings but great all the same.

it was really truthful. it is not just tru for middle east wars, but to all the wars in human history, it is so strange how a human like us can stabb and kill us, how they might have thought, killing is not that easy.unfortunately, many misunderstandings, and deceptions, and lies were made in order to cause someone here and there kill someone else. some were obliged to go by name of defence , some were obliged to fight back, as the mark of self-defence, or protecting homefrom foes and invaders.
I want to tell atrue story happened in Iraq in 2003-2004, after Saddam Hussein, an Iraqi family were going through an american checkpoint in Tkrit/Iraq, and the officer held his hand to as a sign of stop, but the family thought that it was a sign of greeting, because helding the hand up in Iraq means you are welcome, so they went through without stopping, and the american soldiers thought they were terrorists so they fired at them and killed all. that is not humanity, and we don't know whom to be blamed. thank you very much for sharing it was a great peiece.

Thank you Mr Pax. It's good to hear from you
You've spoken your mind well, as you always succeed to. 'Tis sorrowing blood must still be shed for a war that's not even ours. Well spoken.

Time after time there's been war for some convoluted reason or another and what have they achieved, if they were that successful, we'd have lived in peace for centuries. But ..

There have been so many wars based on lies in Man's history. So many rehearsals for the final war, too .. and when it comes, we'll go up in a crowd of smoke apart - of course, from the ones that know in advance but end up deep in the hell they're created for themselves.

Meantime, dear souls like you live in the live hell of their memories. And yes, i can vent.

This isn't a sad poem, it's a tragedy.. and the picture speaks a saga of words.
