A new Jim Crow has come to town 

in Arizona state

Anti gay rights legislation 

A bill promoting hate

Some say they won't serve the gays

Their money is perverse

They promote a deviance

condemned in bible verse

Republicans looking to play

to their party wing nuts

pushed the bill through the senate

now they say they're f**k ups 

They say it makes their state look bad

They had no hindsight 

That's what happens when you placate

to the crazy voter right 

Didn't we have this conversation 

some sixty years ago 

When blacks dared to sit at counters 

and threw out old Jim Crow

Jim Crow was unconstitutional 

So is Arizona's bill 

They best pray it goes away

or they'll face ridicule 

A state of pure intolerance 

controlled by bigot shills 

If their governor has any sense 

she'll veto gay hate bill

Arizona's gay hate bill is an obvious concession to the extreme right the Republicans who voted for it are now regretting. (The National backlash started before the ink on the bill was dry) See what happens when you listen to ignorant people with really big mouths? The gay hate bill is one of many examples the Republican party's conundrum of dealing with the extreme right. Thanks to decades of conspiracy theories, misinformation and cheap sensationalism disguised as "news" the Republican media arm has created a monster they're party is losing control of. It's turning into the Democrats disaster of 1968 when LBJ refused to run for another term and liberal activists turned the democratic party into a zoo of lunatics. History does repeat itself but on the plus side Arizona's Governor vetoed the bill.

I don't understand what the fuss is about. I'm never interested in political affairs but what they're doing causes me quality entertainment. "Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate," People should digest that quote.

Hi BR, as a writer it is only fair that I voice my true opinion and not walk away from this research, in the state where I live, we hear a saying that says "they are at fault those who make them friends" which signifies do not make room for them in your house and if they knock, be honest and let them know they are not welcome.

Those persons have occult secrets that most of society are not aware of and we should not have to be exposed to their hidden ways by them trying to deceive their way into our space, sexuality is decided by God and not by us, male and female only all others go to hell.

Some of them are respectful and the ones that are not could try to use the ones that are to try to infiltrate their hidden ways by hiding behind the ones that are respectful, for that reason in my personal right is to put distance between them.

Society is very harsh by labeling without question those who they see near them "tell me who you hang around with and I will tell you who you are" for that reason again I am not interested in reading stories by gay writers.

Thank you N!LoC. The religious right inadvertently handed the LGBT community a huge victory with that bill. With all the national outcry and threats of boycotts from the corporate sector other Republican (it's always the f*****g Republicans with this bullshit) dominated states will be reluctant to pass similar bills. I think the religious right has it in their heads not to listen to anyone else.
