McWages

McWages

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Never let a clown do your payroll

"
I tried eating at McDonalds
That clown is just to weird
You shouldn't rip the workers off
where mammal flesh is seared
God knows what's going on back there
When no one else is looking
Perhaps they're frying donkey dicks
Is that what they've been cooking
I tooled on down to Burger King
Get some chicken nuggets
They told me we're on strike a*****e
Cross our line and suck it
We're reaping vengeance on the King
For keeping wages down
So we started urinating
Into the king's ground round
Taco Bell and Immigration
Illegal meat surprise
I'm pretty sure it's Burro balls
Inside those Nacho pies
I'm picking hooves out of my teeth
Digesting old horse shoe
Perchance I ate a Unicorn
I'm shitting rainbows too
Eating from a Colonel bucket
Pounds of feet and gizzard
Frying cats and collarbones
Witch's brew and Lizard
Paying peanuts gets you monkeys
slinging s**t with rage
Cut off the corporate payroll teat
raise the minimum wage

Author's Note

Baby Ricochet
By not paying their workers a living wage many corporations are welfare recipients because their employees have to rely on food stamps and government housing to survive. Coincidence? No, it isn't. It's the new America. The rich get richer and the rest of us can order from the dollar menu with our EBT card.

I love this. Hands down, I couldn't agree more, as a person who works for a fast food place, if it wasn't for me being married, I'd be homeless. I could not afford my rent in a one bedroom apartment. I'd never even get approved! Raise it high, or maybe we just need to move!

Thank you Ashley
raises her mcstoner in salute. Keeping people fat, and stupid is the way - you realize that, right? As if I need to tell you...I know you know. I read your poems.
Burro balls. I'm sorry - that was just so funny I couldn't get past it.

Thanks TL.........
One thing we can do is to stop eating fast food. I'm not a vegetarian or anything, but it's not like they are known for being particularly hygienic or generally healthy. It may not help the workers, but it's better than supporting companies we know we shouldn't support for various reasons.

thanks for stopping by Shaquana
I always knew McDonalds was notorious, but I never knew that it would follow the concept of "rich getting richer, poorer getting poorer" when it came to its employees and employers. Interesting fact.

This is a very bold and brave write. Kudos to you for being strong enough to express your opinions on controversial topics.

you're welcome
I love how you speak the truth in your writes. This should really be a wake up call to people. If we stopped going there, they'd have no choice but to change it or close it down... Which let's face it, wouldn't be a bad thing.

A living wage...there are too many working poor in this country. That is why 1 in 7 adults need help with food stamps and 1 in 4 children in this country are fed with food stamps. Once again, it is appalling.

It's never just the awesome points you make that attract my attention, but the interesting and highly creative ways that you express them.

These places will stay open as long we keep going there, I went to KFC for my sons birthday and felt sick afterwards

This is a hard hitting piece. The use of comedic poetry has quite an impact. I don't know what's going on over there as we don't get any news about US domestics. We had a similar problem. Chief banker bonus was 2 million pounds but they couldn't raise the lower rank wages by 2%.

You always speak the stunning truth. Well done.
