In White, The Lady Waits

In White, The Lady Waits

A Poem by Jarrett
"

For Lori's contest

"

Undescribable be the thoughts of the lady
Who silently awaits in a dress of white

Enamored of the answer she'd spoken
For with but a single word, she'd given him her life
All that once could have been,

Is now fused with the words "we" and "them"
But is the lady in waiting saddened?

No. She desires nothing in life but love from him

She has found the forgotten half to her soul
and when he speaks, she knows the words are true
At the end of this gaze-filled path, her devotion be shown

When asked that most celebrated of questions, she will answer...

"I do."
