"China Doll"

"China Doll"

A Poem by K. B. Harding
"

A dark poem I came up with today... about how I'm feeling right now.

"
"China Doll"

Innocence was lost
Early and sudden
They broke the China Doll
Told her to toughen

Asked her whats wrong
He grows vexed
She doesnt respond
Looks at him, perplexed

Paint, paint, O China Doll
Make something great, O China Doll
Fill my demands
Ask for what need
But do understand
I shall not heed
Paint, paint, O China Doll

She toiled hard
She toiled wide
Obeying her master at every side
But every night
She still cried
There was no hope
Even when she tried

The Doll grows tired
The Doll is worn
Wishes to expire
From overwhelming scorn

You're body is aching
Bones are breaking
Veins are straining
Skin is fading
Mind for the taking
Is this art, you're making?

Paint, paint, O China Doll
Make something great, O China Doll
Fill my demands
Ask for what need
But do understand
I shall not heed
Paint, paint, O China Doll

I am never letting you leave
My China Doll
