Darkness (No Fear)

Darkness (No Fear)

A Poem by DLP

Darkness

A knock at the door,

every night at this hour.

the darkness surrounds you, looking to devour

but this time is different- come and see my dear,

this time you're not running, you wont cower in fear

you will stand and fight, you will walk that long mile

you will swing open that door and greet darkness with a smile

This first step t’ward the bitter truth,
is shown in shining verse.
Could us a bit of meter work,
But I have done much worse.

So give your muse a well-earned hug,
And send it out again.
To search the darkness of your mind,
for some great gift or sin.

It’s from those hidden crevices,
or someplace I can’t find,
where comes the next great verse or yarn
To hang out on the line.

Splendid! I can't have enough of it. The imagery is immensely breathtaking.
