Summer Rain

Summer Rain

A Poem by gabrielle
"

To hold and to let go

"

Along the shoreline of this valley

We conceived our dreams

A new journey on summer time-

You and I shall become One

But cold was Cymopoleia’s wrath

She sent tides to unbound our bond

And on this shore- dreams crumbled.

To summer and beyond, thus, I mourned

Another leap year and a year gone by

I stand yet again upon this coast. Behold!

-the summer sun sparkles once more

Ah, my love, I could feel you smiling back.

A soon to be reunited love as this one longed for summer finally beckons with passionate pangs of desire!

( You could also try 'smiling back tenfold' to finish with a last line rhyme if suitable ? )

We often associate rain with pain and sadness and loneliness and sunshine and rainbows when we are happy . Gab you only have two seaons there Summer and Rainy . The rainy season or monsoon coincide with the planting season . You have experienced this feeling during summer and it was also same season that it was resolved . Time indeed. heals all wounds . Beautiful write again .Gab

how many of us stand on the shore and look for a love beyond?
I like your concise poems.

The romantic longing in this poem is so strong. I like the reference to Greek mythology. I could picture a girl standing at the water's edge yearning for her lover to return. Melancholy nostaligia expressed beautifully. Great imagery. Lydi**

Beautiful, Gab...I needed to read a poem to soothe me...and your poem did. I loved the flow...the emotions I felt from each line...I love using the word Behold...I haven't incorporated lately in my writes lol really nice read. :)

I didn`t feel the "summer rain" in the poem, but as it ends with the summer sun and smile of beloved, I felt like it was raining all the time :) I understood that Cymopoleia is daughter of Poseidon - God of the seas and oceans in Greek mythology (I honestly forgot that name)...and summer rain is transition from pain, waiting and loneliness to state of hope with the smile and sun of your beloved...So gentle, nice and beautifully written!

Reciprocated love has no value. A deeply beautiful feeling, and very appropriately like summer rain... The best of opposites :)

A beautiful and positive poem. I like the use of nature and the days of Summer. I like the way you led the reader to a very nice ending. No weakness in the amazing poetry.
