A Chapter by Debbie Barry

Written in 7th grade, a poem about son, music, and peace.

Song is beautiful and lovely.
It has something nice to say.
The song of which I speak
In the song heard every day.
You've heard this song I speak of
If you've walked down a quiet lane.
You've heard this song I speak of
Calling you by name.
This song is the song of peace,
Of quiet mornings past,
Of thoughts and dreams and memories
That you wish could always last.
If you've never heard this song sung,
I pity you, my friend,
For if you've heard this song sung,
Your peace will have no end.
