A Chapter by Debbie Barry

A poem about a guy. Teen angst reurned with my first divorce.

May 16, 1995

Again I sit and contemplate life's ironies.
Again consumed by the force of illicit love.
A fire banked has been stirred by secret passion.
And yet I sit alone again with my secret.

I cannot speak of my yearning for the man child.
I cannot speak of emotions loosed within my heart.
Alone I sit, my secret feelings locked within.
Secret passion a banked fire for eternity.

My secret cannot be told.

For Greg.
