Supper

Supper

A Poem by Debbie Barry
"

Just a new nursery rhyme that came to me in the night.

"

Supper

Run and draw the wat  er,

Build the fire bright,

Bake the cakes,

Pour the beer,

We’ll sup, then sleep. Good night!

Author's Note

Debbie Barry
Initial reactions and constructive criticism appreciated. This is supposed to resemble a 17thg or 18th Century nursery rhyme. Recall that children drank beer at meals then, because of the poor water quality. I'm not promoting modern underage drinking.
