A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews ღ KKD ღ

Blessings From My Daughter

This my place of solitude
where I gather my heart's thought
and realize all the blessings
I have truly been brought

The crashing tide
upon the lonely shore
Over whelms me at times
and life I can't be sure

But if I stand strong
and can  just endure
It gently recedes
and soothes once more

My life is a mixture
of ups and downs
I cling to the positive
and try not to drown

But it was last nite
unknowing to me
I was reminded how dark
I've allowed life to be

God has given me
such treasures to behold
My Daughter reminded me
to just reach out for the gold

My aloneness I've allowed
almost afraid to reach out
but unless I extend mine
a loving hand I go without.

My Daughter is much wiser
beyond my 60 years
I lovingly thank her
for releasing my fears.

I thank you for the love
you have shown to me
by touching my heart
and allowing me to see.

My children and theirs
well they're all I really need
It is from them
my strength does feed.

As life has been proven
time and time again
I learn so much from my children
my daughters.. my friend..

Thank You
ღ I love you Sweetie ღ

I have come back to this beautiful write several times today without leaving you my thoughts in written word. I want to thank you for posting this.
I am sure that anyone that opens their heart to the meaning of your words are going to be as touched by this as was I.

I did not see the face of my daughter as I read this. I saw the face of my Son and the three Grandchildren that do not know me as Grandma.
I have allowed this to be so, and your heart here spoke volumes and selfishly added a deep twinge when some of your words I claimed as my own.
Kenneth and I had always had a very loving relationship. Now sometimes weeks pass without us talking. He perhaps just has not found the words to approach me with his feelings.

And now I leave you for a bit. It seems I have a phone call to make.

Beautiful Donna my dearest of dearest friends.

Love,
Lesa
