Taste

Taste

A Poem by Doxophobia

Taste
Comes in handy
When you're looking
For a Place
To hide
To cower away
All of your fears
Seemingly
Rather snide
What is the taste
of breath
against your cheek
Or the taste
of tongues
Against tongues
The feel of sweat
mingling with his
Or the deep summer heat
Against your flesh
What is the taste of love
Sweet?
Tangy?
Bitter?
Is it the taste of Summer
Poured into a half empty glass
The taste of Winter
Sprinkled over
A half-assed steak.
The taste of pennies
Blood, copper
The taste of strawberries
Ripe, tender
The taste of Love
Is up to
The
Contenders.

Taste I have not paid much attention to that sense as much as I have since reading this. I liked that you took taste to so many places.

"What is the taste of breath against your cheek...Blood, copper..." I especially liked those images.

Loved the word flow and casual emphasis of each line! (:

Not too great with understanding poetry, either; but I'd say this was definitely "flavorful". Nice job.

I'm not good with poetry, but this is nice! I enjoyed it.
