I Got Meds

I went off to see the doctor

I was feelin’ kind of sick

It took a week to get me in the door

By the time that he could see me

I had fixed things on my own

and I wasn’t feelin’ poorly any more

‘cause I got fixins in the cupboard

on my medicine shelf

If the doctor can’t get to me

I’ll just fix me up myself

I got meds to speed my heart up

I got meds to slow it down

I got meds that break up all my

big blood clots

I got meds that make me sleepy

Meds that keep we wide awake

I got happy weed

in the pretty brown clay pots

Hey! I got fixins in the cupboard

on my medicine shelf

If the doctor can’t get to me

I’ll just fix me up myself

I got meds that make me happy

I got meds that calm me down

Meds that make me lose some weight

when I’m too large

If none of this stuff seems to work

I’m never really in a lurch

There’s always moonshine

on the shelf in the garage

Yup, I’m never out of fixin’s

They are always close at hand

I’ll take care of my own fixin’

I don’t need no doctor man

Heh-heh, maybe you should call yourself "doctor". I'm pretty sure I'd rather take my problems to you than one of those people with a cold stethoscope and rubber gloves. This is fun and I enjoyed reading it.
