Clipped Wings

Clipped Wings

A Poem by Dreamwind

Close my eyes,

And jump?

I have before,

But love,

Didn't catch me,

Only the floor,

First looks,

And kisses,

Betray the mind,

Begin the seduction,

Become unkind,

Wings are clipped,

Boundaries laid,

For each new love,

The heart is paid,

Where's the peace,

Of a soulmate's touch,

Begins the tangle,

Of never enough,

The struggle,

Gets weaker,

With each bound kiss,

Surrender less eager,

For owner's bliss,

Smothered promise,

Satin strings,

Guarded cherish,

Clipped wings.
