Such Is the End

Such Is the End

A Poem by Aisha Mnd
"

Started as a diary entry, turned into a poem. Excerpt: Morbid thoughts are now somehow velvet lace/ making graveyards look like gardens.

"
Morbid thoughts are now somehow velvet lace,
making graveyards look like gardens.

The moon has turned as bright as the sun,
and glares at me with nonchalant eyes,
knowing its place as the master of the night,
the fictitious lamp of darkness.

I lean by the large diseased tree, where below
lay corpses, crumbs of beings, once animate and alive,
but now dirt. And so, I am made to ponder,

'Such is the end of a king, and such is the end of a pauper.'

Your diary must be some sort of sacred book that publishers ache to get their hands on. Cause with entry's like this that diary is a book of more than just words, it sounds more like a part of your soul.
The content of this poem profound, the message clear.. for rich or for poor we're all going to be covered with dirt. I love how you describe the moon, gives the poem such a powerful effect creating a vivid scene in the readers mind of a graveyard, putting us right there with you.. sucking it all in. I'm smiling right now at how amazed i am even though the poem was short it had quiet an effect on me. Liked it a lot.
