Darkness at Litha

Darkness at Litha

I fiercely compete
With myself
For control
Day at odds
With night
Sanity long since
Abandoned by
The side of the road

I fear for
My poor heart
Can I heal
The anger
That taunts me
Can I cleanse
The negativity
From my soul

I surpassed
Self destruction
The swords
Poised at my heart
Ready for
My next move
Destruction lies
With the anger

Only Love conquers all
Gollum sleeps in my psyche
Ready to revive
With the slightest
Encouragement
Night threatens the sun
Can a soul survive
Such turmoil

Ruin awaits me
If I lose control
Need overwhelms
My waking existence
I seek the source
Of my pain
Only peace
Can calm my fear

The mirror
Shows me the path
The Tower
Crumbles around me
I sit alone
Shivering with cold
The colors of dawn
Approach

I rise naked
To greet the sun
