i keep having this same dream.

i keep having this same dream.

A Poem by h d e rushin

IDGAF

if we just argued
and
I threw a cup at you.

Come lay down.  {if nothing is left of me}
supplicate my humble
entreaty. Let's

pretend to pray together, as if
gathering again jonquil
nature
on it's ear.

Let us allege that even
faux love
is unhurried support;

screw each others  brains out since  we're allowed to in
the optic chiasma of this earth.

Just keeping it real this morning..

Hard to argue with you Dana on all counts if i was him I'd just listen and be grateful that cup didn't damage my chiasma...LOL! You kept it real dear one & you kept it true and Faux love isn't good enough for you but maybe that all you wanted in that dream:)

If life were a Mills and Boon bodice ripper; this poem would never have been written.

We throw cups as we throw the dice of life; often unthinking and mostly blindsided; but faux love is better, is it not, than no love at all.

Love that penultimate stanza, 'optic chiasma,' so clever.

Dana,
This is to me a confrontation-- not so much with the other person, but with the speaker's own inner feelings. She seems conflicted . . . willing to compromise for the sake of what 'feels' like love. Jonquil . . . a flower in the narcissus family . . . possibly relating to a self-centered attitude that's caused the argument in the first place. It sounds like the speaker is willing to get around it by hiding in the belief that the flesh will bear witness against it. Another splendid poem, Girl.
