A Poem by h d e rushin

Someone said to me
that "all the Temptations were gay". Eddie
in those skinny shark skin pants, I could see.
But Otis? Everyone had a ladyboy as their
former selves; drew placenta moons
with supplicate pink fists. Wore eyeshadow
on a cervix of spinning silks.  Just think
how cold the world is apart from plumage and
there was nothing but a lake large enough
to solve the parch, the dry of a thirsty world.
That's the origin of queer. Not metaphors, nor
moods enough, in any other way.

and Otis, the last to survive...and even if they were, who cared...their sound was the best...and their movement? i saw them at SIU in '69....the sound system was so screwed up we couldn't understand a word they sang.....and yet we loved watching them enough that it made the concert worth the admission.
and you know what...plumage is a good thing...people are scared and prejudiced against what they don't understand or don't want to understand. I think and hope we will all "keep on truckin' baby"

Well I never even considered the matter as back then it was the music I was interested in but now you raise the question? And I guess the answer is so long as they didn't harm others live and let live!

thanks John...live and let live...that's my motto going forward in this life. dana
"I can't help myself" . . . . who cares if they were gay, they brought me a lot of teen happiness listening to their "sugar pie honey[s]" and such. These "ladyboys" had a load of talent. That's enough for me! Thanks for sharing.
