Pave the Path

Pave the Path

A Poem by Amorette Duvannes
"

if you get the pun then you get the person. be smart and you can have all my secrets.

"
Deep in the flux of your valley
Iron strikes, cold as gnat's piss--
Combing through time with wired fingers
Electro, Electra cool me off;

Ich steige, du steigst
Strait-jacket, wringing oil,
Bleed it from your pores, this is
How to be a being bee.

Who am I?
I am Paul, Saul of Tarsus
Who are you,
O window shadow of divine galore?

A pilgrimage through your veins!
Sacrifice of the internal, serve it up
On my groins, greedy snap! Disappointment,
I plead, please come back to me.

Ick liebe thee, ick ick,
I am too silly for the throat, so I float,
Squalid seas touch in a way I did not ask,
Take me as the tide, I did not ask.

If I am worse today I will make an effort.
Isssshhh, isssshhh, the throat deceits me
The wind shushes me, turns me away into the blatant storm,
I wrinkle up, shrewd and compliant,

This is how to be a song
Symphonising through every nerve-ending
They near. One, be more.
Two, be less.

Oh, squalid one! -- Science does outnumber you
By one, smug self, you brought this on yourself
Darling elf, budding pelvis, I shrunk onto you
All of forever, eternal and ever.

opinions. i do not want scholar-ly criticism, that does not appeal to me and i do not wish to appeal to them. i wish to appeal to people, and to their opinions; negative, or positive. please give me them. i am too often hungered by it.

Abigail, when I read this piece for the the Bad a*s women contest, I liked it right away. The language used had me feeling that this was a statement by a strong woman. She has had obstacles to face and there will be more. This felt like a poem about the very essense of woman, her body and what it is capable of. I have to admit, some of the meaning has gone right over my head, I just liked the feeling some of the lines and words brought to me. Interesting work, I enjoyed reading it very much. Congrats on the Honorable mention and thank you for submitting. Angi~
