Live and let go

To have and to hold;

It may be concrete,

It can also be abstract.

It’s also a want.

 

When we hug someone,

We are expected to let go.

At one point, it hurts.

But knowing that it’s necessary, we forego.

 

We all feel the pain;

The agony of want,

The anguish of letting go.

Yet we still continue to possess.

 

Everything withers and dies.

We cannot brood over it forever.

There will be far greater things for us.

Live and let go, dear friends.

Love this. Currently purging the apartment and practicing my sense of non-attachment so this spoke to me. Something I've learned - letting go can be practiced so, eventually, there is less anguish.

I can actually relate to these feelings and what some people don't realize that in order to live you do have to let go of the thing that is keeping you from living.
There is some food for thought in this piece (and no I'm not going to say good job)LOL It really makes you think only because the reader can take the words in many different ways
