neanderings

neanderings

A Poem by Ed Hart
"

long ago, not so far away...

"
gregorian chant
burning log
the pre-dawn, unencumbered space
the rain
             lends itself to longer views
to distant eyes
that lingered in the dancing light
and turned to search the various sky
slowly summoning the question
for all these answers

Excellent Ed, this is a very spare, subtle collection of words suggesting at facinating neanderings but leaving enough for the reader's imagination.
Great work,
Alan

thank you alan...nice to see your smiling face
Perfect and astute, as always mr. Wise. Profound, even a thought as quaint as these written lines. Bravo.

A complete thought. You have this knack of choosing just the right rythmn and pace to tell the story complete in such few words. I am reminded that Matisse could draw a perfect portrait in 5 lines. you are simply amazing.

I like the theme of and mood of the poem. transience.. and the question still unanswered.

Longer views to distant eyes...
I use to have a camping spot, and along the way there would be feilds full of lightening bugs and the smell of fire before you even arrived. The lightening bugs were falling stars and the smell of fire was was the homecoming :)
The things we think of in "the pre-dawn, unencumbered space...

I wonder, what they wondered
What future did they envision
I see the flames lick and dance
And somewhere inside that past
I may BE..

Silly me.........

Thanks Sir Hart..

you know a lot of hard earned things, my friend
And still we search and probably ever will.

'neanderings,' indeed...
