Once upon a time once

I miss those talks about things I pretended to know about
and maybe philosophy is like that 
it doesn't require an education
just a point of view 
and I miss sharing mine with you 
if I called again 
would I be a welcome friend 
or is it better to face the end
I'm at my end
and if I talk in circles
like we used to
about the beginnings of things
then I may convince myself I'm back at the start
in that moment you stole my heart.

Another piece filled with questions about life and love. The protagonist appears to still love someone they once had a relationship with and ponders if this could be reignited, closing the circle again. They value the closeness of conversation and being in that person's company. Another poem with sadness woven into it as it may be a simple pipe dream.

it can be quite difficult to just be friends with a former lover...but that person knows us so well...and if we have shared intimacy, knows us in so many ways...and understands us better than most...but sometimes keeping to that line after having crossed it can be too hard to do.
