The love of betrayal

The love of betrayal

A Poem by Edie Blue Starfish

It's a lonely road
father would know
with four children alone
and no daddy to come home

the pubs hold onto him
up until last call
the dark alleys give cover
to cloak his beautiful w***e

and momma wears her devotion
like shackles around her ankles
she's set aside her pride for the twenty-third time

her love is a smile dancing upon a child's eyes
by day she dances
at night she cries

father's on the road again
the devil at his side
I think he may have died
I pray he's gone and died.

when it gets to that point that the child wishes a parent gone, that is such a sad state of mind caused by infidelity.
If the need is that strong then the marriage should end...it is one big heartbreak rather than a string of times of forgiving necessary to keep something together that is no longer.

Thank you Jacob.
Such a sad, sad refrain as the father/husband is out galavanting while the wife and kids get on with life without him. Happens all too often and the women often accept it, thinking it is as good as it gets!
