Glorious Rainbow

Glorious Rainbow

A Poem by papaed
"

a little happiness and joy...answer to a paradise challenge.

"

Onto this gray and blue earth

comes violent life-affirming weather.

Into our lives a gray, wet symbol of dreary

and sad emotions, of introspection,

of reverent awe, and of humble recognition

of our true tiny role in the cosmos.

Above this green and sparkly earth,

driven by our yellow/white sun’s light

and rain in joyous harmony together

comes an optical phenomena,

an ethereal arc of light

refracted through water droplets.

A magical floating spectrum chandelier

made of tiny crystals in the ethos

hung to light our spirits and raise our hopes.

A masterful bright bridge

from earth to sky and sky back to earth.

Always purest red to the heavens

and richest violet to the earth.

with contrasting bright yellow,

bright green, bright blue, and indigo

flowing radiant and rich between.

Into our lives a humbling,

glowing neon sign, a promise of cheer,

of bright and lovely things to come,

of sadness forgotten,

of salvation after sin,

of life’s continuation.

Oh half-circle symbol

of the marvelous mysterious circle

of death and life’s renewal!

Oh glorious rainbow!

I reread this .. many here have lost their homes and belongings due to flooding from the Missisip, Black , White and Arkansas Rivers..hope there is a rainbow for them on the horizon .. one important thing though ,, still alive and together.. beautiful... a little abstract, or different structure is good .. xoxo

This is beautiful. I love rainbows and the magic that they hold with them. It's always amazing to me that out of the worst and most destructive weather, we are still given this rainbow which always brings hope and beauty to the world again.
