My World is Alive

My World is Alive

A Poem by W. C. Forrest

The incessant chatter of mild breeze,
In trance like stance of dancing trees,
Smell of wet earth calming the plains,
Following the magical touch of pouring rains,
Forever flowing river whispering ancient secrets,
Divine chants of the humblest of crickets,
Dimming lights and open skies,
Twinkling stars like million lights,
My world is alive

The innocuous conversations with friends and foes alike,
Laughs, lies, truths and cries,
Laughing Buddha with its inscrutable smile,
Sleeping child and his mother's pride,
Religious beliefs in never ending lives,
The grand satire on power hungry tides,
Chains of love and family ties,
In moments of standing at each other's sides,
My world is alive

Melting snow in changing days and nights,
Glorious valleys and great raven flights,
Gentle warmth of sun so bright,
Magnificent eagles at soaring heights,
The jungle lord's imposing strides,
Nimble movements full of pride,
In modest creature's determined minds,
Nightingale songs and peacock cries,
My world is alive

The great love conundrum, an unsolved riddle till date,
Lost and new found purposes great,
Palpable tensions of future and fate,
Many failures as staircase to success and fame,
Escaped dreams and imaginations running wild,
In baroque stories from spotless minds,
Socially deprived, complacent dwellers of the sides,
In their hopes and dreams,
My world is alive

Tired and sleepy yet smiling wide,
Waiting for the morning sunshine,
I go to land of dreams with peace in mind,
Knowing my world is up and alive

Painted words create a landscape that few would acknowledge let alone admit we all see from time to time. This is another one to be quite proud of as not only is it a piece of you it is something we all can relate to on one level or another.

"My world is alive."

This is something I am beginning to feel in my life for the first time, as if I was asleep or dead until recently when everything turned on.

Please keep it up - this is something to nourish.

Wow, Eeshan, you just made my world come alive with these amazing images you painted. That first stanza is breathtaking and had me falling in love from the beginning. I am so enchanted with this spell of a poem you conjured up. Beautiful as always.

...as it is always a pleasure to read your beautiful poetry...
Sculptured piece, very illuminous, effulgent. Wonderfully captured and translated for me to see, my world is alive.
