Shattered

Shattered

A Poem by W. C. Forrest

It was a vision, a vision ahead,
To a blissful world devoid of dread,

But the draconian rules of life too exist,
Insinuation in seducing spaces somehow missed,

Overwhelming elation from such utopia enticing,
Abrupt rupturing of dreams even more vexing,

Black hearted ravages twisting mind towards murky grounds,
Reality starts to obscure as sanity slowly drowns,

Desires die substituted by vehemence of his loneliness,
More apprehension awaits in unusual stillness,

The suffering so strong beyond endurance,
Devoid of soothing words or encouragement,

The vision finally shattered into million pieces,
How do we all survive in such terrible places?

uh, Eeshan this hurts my heart to read this coming from you. Although it is cloaked in the usual brilliant beauty that you dress all your writing with, it still shatters my soul. How do we all survive in such terrible places, indeed. A truly sorrowful yet gorgeous write... how do you do it, dear poet?

Thank you for your kind words.
Brilliant... Exceptional... Your little game with alliteration, how I absolutely love wordplay ! Not one word is gone to waste, all specifically chosen to fulfill it's own destiny in your own piece. Couldn't praise this enough ! Favorited !!

you have given life to my words and I thank you for it.
Yes, simply brilliant piece you have wrote here.

I can relate to this on many levels as I have or even do still feel many of these things myself as time moves on. By far better way of expressing how I feel than I believe I have ever done.

A true gem here my friend - be proud of this one.
