FEARSOME

Natural disasters. Are they a warning?

                       FEARSOME

Wet and windy waves crash

fearlessly 'gainst ragged barrier walls.

Returning punches they battle ...

    see sprouting sea spray tall.

Among craggs and inner recesses

nature hides survivors who watch 

        in fearsome awe.

Hark, angry persistent winds sets a scene

   >>> a battlefield, a prevailing storm!

Within the darkest caves - no spaces left.

     they have taken them all!!!

Land now covered with muck and sludge

destined to be the watery grave in which

               inhabitants lie.

Panic not! just keep calm!

Human feelings are at hand to be the balm,

for in quiet consultation they 'beaver' on

bringing a certain kindness and civility

        once lost to man.

"Fearsome" are the destructive forces now

             known to us.

Are they a way of proving the solidarity of

mankind in face of danger and destruction?

"Peace on earth, goodwill to all men"

In biblical times this would have been a warning from God showing his displeasure..... maybe it still it is as we view God differently these days, but he is still master of the universe however we think of him and the universe can be very powerful when the balance is disrupted

Too right Stella. I sense His presence in all of this. Like in biblical times mankind has ignored His warnings to the detriment of all on earth. such a sad time in Houston...and now the east coast is concerned ....this is a really apt description of the heartache nature can cause when it gets angry and ravages us...

Nature is giving us stark warnings but do we take heed?

Is Earth mad at us? yes, I believe so, and maybe angry nature is one way to show it, I very like Your thoughts here Kitty, because if we look closely, it's kind of a warming to the human, and human feelings, and if "Fear" is gathering us, let it be, and let us lit the flame of faith together through it, a really wonderful piece, with some really great imsges, Thank You dear Kitty.

Thank you for this review. Yes she is mad at the way we have mistreated her. Mother Nature is rebelling , still we dont take heed. Look at what's happening in Texas! My family there are safe but those who have felt the brunt need our prayers. Be safe. Blessings
