Loyalty is a precious comodity. Where does it lie?!

Darling ~ stand by me ...

when I need a friend >>>

a friend to rely on and defend.

Stand by me ...

when life seems a burden and is

            full of hate.

Love me today,tomorrow might be too late.

Incite me, inflict me with your passion

one that is unique, that won't go out of fashion.

Stand by me ... when beauty fades

and even if I have to wear hearing aids.

Stand by me ... when I am wrinkled and grey

when later I forget what to say.

Stand by me ...when the going gets rough

and please don't say, "I've had enough!"

STAND BY ME ....Please.

Having read this lovely piece I realised that I fit the pattern. I am wrinkled and grey, I continually forget what to say and I wear a hearing aid !! Joking aside Kitty this is a really lovely piece, but then, your poems always are. thanks for this one . Rod.

We as humans are very social creatures. With this, it means we need companionship. Independence is necessary because we have to know how to love with ourselves first. However, we will always need someone to lean on. Friendship is one of the things that make life livable. This poem exhibited such honesty. Great read.
