BATTLESHIP

BATTLESHIP

A Poem by kitty

Just a word triggers a thought: triggers a poem.

"
                                             BATTLESHIP

Masters of the sea
Naval protection for U and me.

Rise with the tide ~~~>>>
show omnipotence and velocity as you ride!

Speedy target, keenest eye
Riding waves over deepest ocean bed.

Come what may, men with steely nerve
A sacrafice to each and every head.

Seconds count when lives are at stake
take command at helm, for goodness sake!

To you we salute, men and women
              of courage and determination
serving their country and the nation.

The Battleship has long been a corner stone of military might, no more evident than the battles at sea during WW2. The way the modern age of warfare has advanced the Battleship seems to has lost some of its relevance in the face of air superiority and drone technology. Nevertheless, they are magnificent vessels and still the true ruler of the oceans.

This is a fine little tribute to them and all who served upon them. Nice work.

We are an island nation and have always had the sea to protect us from invaders; the sailors ride on and below the waves to keep us safe from invaders.
With the onset of radar tracking enemy ships and subs became even a more skilled job; these wonderful men and women risk treacherous situations on the sea to keep us and our little island safe.

Very nice. Some of the words I had to look up but it was great! I recently finished my mandatory military service in the army, not the navy
