MOODY BLUES

MOODY BLUES

A Poem by kitty
"

Don't sit in the past. Move on!

"
                     MOODY BLUES
Four strums on that old guitar
and I'm singing the 'moody blues' from afar.
Living in a vast yet compact world ~ devoid of dreams:
long and lonelier the days ~ bare and empty the nights.
Traces of happiness long gone ~ living in sheltered dreams.
Bring back the days of long ago ~ forever dreams , meant to last!
Days when we were young, carefree ~ only lived and wanted to be.
Nothing mattered at all ~ from Spring through to Fall.
Now colors have lost their hue ~ because of not being close to you.
Birds and bees no longer do their thing: bunnies have lost their zing.
Welcome the days of Summer where brightness is everywhere:
                     color fills our every being.
Put a 'spring' in your step ~ forget the 'Moody Blues'!

you reminded me of that song by them....i love that group...and i love this poem as it brings me back to a really carefree time for me...the sixties...young, and full of wonder.

Your visits and lovely reviews is an inspiration in itself. Thanks
Our youth, although not devoid of angst, has different concerns as we struggle with our identity but have little responsibility for getting everyday matters attended. Then we hit further education and things get more serious and in adulthood responsibilities for ourselves and our spouse and children take over. In the end we all end up either dead or alone and I guess if we prepare for the alone time we can survive eapscially if the sun shines. You capture the mood and the 'Moody Blues' nicely here Kitty.

Like with poetry I can lose myself in caring for things in/of nature. Thanks for your observation.
