Tears

Tears

A Poem by Elana Juli Royson
"

my life for the past couple years...

"
The chains that bind from the one love
And the cries for connection.

The parents torn apart, the fights, the hate
And the cries for absolution.

The friends in all their absolute confusion
And the cries for understanding.

The home now lost and long forgotten
And the cries for belonging.

The child’s hurt and shattered brokenness
And the cries for healing.

The dream long gone and faded to dust
And the cries for re-envisioning.

The hunger to be, to live, to breathe
And the cries for life.

Life stolen from under the child’s feet,
Laughter silenced, friends to never meet,
Love that vanished, no passion, no heat.
Her empty world cries out…

A melancholy flows throughout the words within your piece creating a sorrowful voice and haunting tune of loss, the innocence of childhood taken away and with nothing left an aching hole is left, beautifully worded.
