Brokeness

Brokeness

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

One of those moments when all we can see is hurt and rejection.

"

Confused about so many things,

I wonder God, do you care?

Are your arms really there,

I am stretching forth to seek you.

I have fallen.

Alone I rest against the ground

Trying to smile but all I do is frown.

I miss my daughter

I miss her smile.

I need to know if she is safe from harm.

God I just want to hold her tight.

The lies and betrayal hurt;

they hurt like hell.

I want to lament,

my heart is dying.

I need you ,

tonight Lord, I need you.

More than ever before,

I am dying and there seems to be no relief.

I want to live,

I want to be happy.

It is my desire,

to be whole again.

Please you are the last hope,

I need to know you are there.

Don't leave me,

Please Lord never reject me.
