A Dozen Red Roses

A Dozen Red Roses

A Poem by CircusNerd

 ~

I lie awake and daydream

About that perfect day

When you'd give me a dozen red roses

And take my breath away

Their beauty would be beyond compare

And so perfect in their stance

And in the pristine vase  I'm place them

They'd twirl in a nimble, willowy dance

The water would swirl at the base

The aroma would rise through the air

Those thorns hidden behind their grace

I wouldn't give them a mindful care

Your smile at my utter delight

Would make me smile just oh so more

And we'd laugh together hand in hand

Another daydream to adore

 ~
