Alone In the Rain

Alone In the Rain

A Poem by CircusNerd

The rain, it's banging against the walls
Slapping against the cold, hard cement

And flowing down the serpentine cracks

Washing away things I repent

And here I stand, staring into the night

Waiting for someone to find me, take me to a home

Cause I don't want to be alone again

This time I won't survive it

For I fear what's not frightening

The light of the truth

Which settles for wretched corners in my mind

Waiting for the rain to awash what's left

And stop this bleeding

And cover these blemishes

And end this path oh so brutally made

For against the turret s of justice

I stand, reprieved

The rain washes my sins  and belittles my values

Oh so many, and so ignorant as they came to be

And as my crimes were forgone, the insuppressible pride I'd known died

And all that was left was a young girl
Crying out for help when all was gone
And no one to stand beside her

As she walked away in the rain

Guided by the streetlamps so sullen

Into the night

so sad and so true are the words you speak. nevertheless, closure can be found within the self-actualization of every rainstorm. :)

This poem is indeed an accomplishment. I honestly felt bad for not being able to help this poor soul. The imagery you created here is still fresh in my mind.
