Revelation

Revelation

A Poem by CircusNerd

let them cheat my people
and cut down my trees

let them impoverish my country
and abuse my peace

let them capture my villages
and taint my seas

let them my change my laws
and litter my streets

because they cannot stain my skies
or steal my stars
or kiss my sun
or dance on my horizon
or heat my tears
or cripple my dignity

Love the nationalism inthis.
Heads up for the person below me, you're not talking about "capitalism" that's the economic system. You're talking about "imperialsim".

this was a very powerful work that, to me, represents the strength and perserverance of the human spirit. Good Job!

This is powerful! I love it and am so glad I saw it .. your inspiration coming from poverty makes the poem sad yet as you write,

because they cannot stain my skies
or steal my stars
or kiss my sun
or dance on my horizon
or heat my tears
or cripple my dignity

There is hope and no giving up!

Love it!
