How do I know?

How do I know?

A Poem by Emilee Grimm

You ask me what I believe in.

How do I know?

You ask me how I feel.

How do I know?

You ask me if I like boys or girls.

How do I know?

You ask me if I know what I am doing.

How do I know?

You ask me who I am.

How do I know?

How do I know unless you tell me?

How do you know? a question i have asked myself.....im still unsure...do i like boys or girls...even tho i havent been seen around with a boy in yrs...but its the feeling i get from women that makes me think i might just be..
i never like taking control of who i am..so i keep hiding behind other ppl to tell me what i like, or who i sud be with...

that is my take on the poem, and its a personal thing for me aswell..its hard to accept who we really are...

Well, what I can tell from this is a lot like to the way I am... except the lines that say:

"You ask me if I like boys or girls.
How do I know?"

I am certain I like girls... xD just to make that clear...
Anyway, I can interpret this as someone that really depends on other people to live... someone that is scared to make its own decisions... someone that really doesn't know who she, he is... and that is desperate to know all of these things... desperate to find the place where she, he belongs... well... that's just me...
Wonderful piece!

I like this. This poem brings up how what we do is often something else in someone else's eyes. A lot of times we are misunderstood because those closest to us can't see things from behind our own eyes. I can really identify with this--it's a problem I face often

you know, there are some things that no one really can ever grasp or understand.
sometimes you never know, you just have to go with whatever you're feeling.
