Pennies in the Washer

Pennies in the Washer

A Poem by Emilee Grimm
"

Dedicated to my sister

"

Staring at the small copper piece

Inside the cold, large, white drum

Wondering why it amuses you so much

To recieve a penny

Especially when I find them

in the washer

But I guess that's the joy of innocence

The joy of the simple things in life

And the beauty of being a child...

It is amazing how a few pennies in a washer can bring to mind so many childhood memories, simple things recall simpler times. Such a lovely slice of life piece, you have written a delightful poem. I like it.
