One

One

A Poem by emipoemi

To hurt another hurts you, too,

You gain a scar that shall not mend.

Repentance merely soothes the pain,

Yet in your soul shall it remain

Until the end.

To kill another, part of you

Dies, too, and leaves an empty hole.

Despite what differences we bear,

Though we one heart or mind don’t share,

We share one soul.

Deeply pertinent and wise words here.
