La Noche Solitaria

La Noche Solitaria

A Poem by emipoemi

En la penumbra de la noche,                                    Within the half-light of the night,

Sin alegría, sin amor.                                                Delight declining by the hour,

Languideciendo en la languidez                                    Within the languor languishing

Como una marchitada flor.                                    As though a pale and withered flower;

Sin ganas de cerrar los ojos                                    Without the will to close the eyes,

Por miedo de la oscuridad-                        For fear of what the darkness hides-

Las sombras surgen por el silencio,            The shadows slither through the silence,

Sembrando la inseguridad.                                    Unease unfurling from their strides.

Está el fuego atenuando,                                                The fire is fading into smoke,

Está el corazón doliente,                                    The heart is heaving soulful sighs,

Añorando mucho el manso ardor                                    Desiring much the gentle flame

Del sol solemne y sonriente.                                    The solemn smiling sun supplies.

Hundido, hondo, en las tinieblas                        Immersed so deep within the shadows

De nimiedad y escasez,                                                Of pettiness and scarcity,

Esperando con desesperación                                    Awaiting ever desperately

Que me abrase otra vez.                                    For she once more to comfort me.

Noche de Febrero by Nek, my most favourite song from him, which had a great impact in my life, surprisingly I was listening to it before I came across Your poem, and now I'm watching it again, Your avatar left inside me a feeling of Italy, I don't know if You are Italian or not, but seeing here a Spanish poem felt like... perfect, perfect to describe You, to express You, not to mention the loneliness, the pathos of one self, I imagine someone sitting alone in an old caffe, rain out side, the last scene I got is his back, leaving... I might just have met You, but I feel this one to be so close to Your heart, wonderful poem!

Un poema maravilloso mi amigo! Fluid, lyrical, lovely. Technical perfection. Beautiful language, imagery, simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration- what more can I say?? Perfecto!

A shadow striving for a name in the backlots. (I don't delve into RR's unless you're willing to reciprocate. I'm a quid pro quo kind of writer. My expertise are for those willing to learn, and for .. more..
