Alone (Love and Loss)

For the Love and Loss contest :)

I am alone

The sun drapes over me
Clothes me with a happiness uncontainable
And sets my heart on my sleeve ready
To see the love of my life and
Once these eyes set upon him Oh
I fall in love all over again
Instantly my heels begin to rise and
I stand on the edge of my feet and arms
Simultaneously wrap around his shoulders
My safe place My haven
His deep chuckle as I do so vibrates through me
Rattles my bones
I'm weak
He holds me up
Tight
In a world full of people
We are alone dancing
In each other's skin as
The sun sets breathing begins to slow
This moment heavy on my chest so it breaks
I tell him
I love him
His smile cracks his mask
"We can't see each other anymore" falls
From his dry lips
I must've taken all the sweetness from them by accident
I must've held on too tight and killed this love
As the stars settle in place
I run
Tears falling faster than I
With no destination
In a world full of people
Left
Alone
