Monsters

This is a poem about what I go through every night before I go to sleep.

The monsters in the shadows
come crawling slowly out at night
I scream for someone to help me
For I'm losing this mental fight

 

You were my saviour
and we were meant to be
Now, even the monsters want to know
Why did you leave me?

 

They surround me now
As I pray for my death
My heart beats erratically
'Cause I'm holding my breath

 

As I inhale one last time
I slowly open my eyes
I look straight ahead, and there you are
And I finally realize, that you were my demise

 

A dark and lonely hole
opens from underneath me
I'm falling in an abyss
And going to where I am meant to be

 

Images, pictures of the past
Suddenly flash before my eyes
And I notice our love was a lie
I just wish I would've realized
That you truly never loved me.

Although you have written alot for this piece, I actually like the two crossed out stanzas together. They actually make a good writer itself! Nice!
