love; but not a love poem

love; but not a love poem

A Poem by Emily Quinn

Laying back with the steady, even notes gently swirling around me.        Closing my eyes, letting the soft melody sooth my soul.                                   I listen in amazement to the sheer beauty that steals my breath.                  An escape, my escape, is the baffling power of music.                               How strong a song is for the heart, affecting our moods with every verse.                                  Mellow tunes calming my mind, relaxing my worries.                          Bumping beats making my hips sway and heart race excel.                       Loud rumbles that make my head bang, releasing my rebellion side.      Classic lyrics that prompt my own vocal accommodations.                         Easy instrumentals, hard guitar, gentle voices, and amazement.           Astonishing talent of pure individuality, no two songs alike.                       Never mind hit forty singles, look to the underground.                                Raw art, emotion- real energy, soul- true passion, inspiration.                 From live performances to burned CD’s, with radio plays and ipod mixes.  How boring life would be without the magic of music.                               How colourless days would seem without splashes of sound.                     How bland the world would surely be without the flavours of songs diverse spices.                                 Laying back I now open my eyes as the music floods around me in a delightful blanket.                    A smile plays at the corners of my mouth, a gleam brightens my eyes.            I come to the well known concluion; music is the s**t!

How bland the world would surely be without the flavours of songs diverse spices." I especially loved this part. Great write...keep it up.
