Our Blue Lagoon (Haiku)

 at a tender age

we sampled forbidden fruit

   down by the river

 

your soft lips met mine

in a first tentative kiss

   you made me shiver

 

your embrace was firm

protecting us from the world

   beyond the river

 

I discovered you

as you explored my body

   you made me quiver

 

that day's memory

s'burnt forever in my heart

  as is the river

 

this small gray river

that for us that day became

   our blue lagoon
